Municipality, Arnhems Buiten and IPKW to build on reputation Arnhem Energy City

Municipality, Arnhems Buiten and IPKW to build on reputation Arnhem Energy City

The municipality of Arnhem and business parks Arnhems Buiten and IPKW will join forces in order to increase the visibility of Arnhem as an energy city outside the region and to attract new companies and institutions to the city. For this purpose they will use the slogan "Your business powered by energy Made in [Arnhem] '. Their first joint activity will be to promote Arnhem at the upcoming Energy trade fair.

Arnhem has already established a strong community of energy and environmental entrepreneurs, citizens' initiatives and knowledge organizations with their program Energy Made in [Arnhem]. In December 2010, 38 representatives of local authorities, businesses, foundations and social institutions signed the ‘Arnhem Energy City’ intent. A year later 80 partners signed a covenant. 140 project initiatives took off and an Arnhem Energy Advisory Board was introduced. This will increase sustainability of the Arnhem society and stimulate innovation and new business.

Next step
Today, the municipality and the two business parks most vital to the city’s image, Arnhems Buiten and IPKW (Industrial Park Kleefsewaard) are taking the next step. The aim of their partnership is to promote Arnhem as a business location for the sector more explicitly. Their first joint action is the promotion of Arnhem Energy City during the Energy 2012 trade fair in Den Bosch, from 9th to 11th October 2012. This trade fair will be visited by many energy and environmental technology (EMT) companies in the target group. The HAN will also be present, providing a solid representation of the region. In addition to their partnership under the banner of ‘Energy Made in [Arnhem]’ the parties will use the following three assets in their promotion.
